Angela earned her BA in the fields of art and art history from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio and her BS in the field of biology from The University of Texas at Austin. She later received her MA from the Biomedical Communications Graduate Program at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Angela's interest in cellular and molecular biology led her to the Department of Cell Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center where she served as medical and scientific illustrator for more than four years. She worked extensively on illustrations for journal publications, grant applications, cover image submissions, and teaching materials, as well as projects in multimedia production, web design, and graphic design. During this time, she had the opportunity to work on projects with research scientists and clinicians from other departments at UT Southwestern, including Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Urology, Cardiology, Plastic Surgery and others. Angela is currently an Instructor of Multimedia Production for the Biomedical Communications Graduate Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center. |
