The main theme of our research is the application of synthetic and bioorganic chemistry to problems of biochemical and medicinal relevance. All of the techniques of contemporary organic chemistry, spectroscopy, and chromatography are utilized in a highly interactive, multi-disciplinary environment supported by state-of-the-art instrumentation. Several of our projects involve collaborations with laboratories specializing in pharmacology, physiology, internal medicine, nephrology, and oncology at UT Southwestern and other institutions.
Students interested in joining Prof. Falck's laboratory for graduate studies leading to a Ph.D. must apply to the UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences for admission to the Graduate Program in Biological Chemistry or Cell Regulation. Applications for post-doctoral associateships and faculty sabbatical visits should be sent directly to Prof. Falck accompanied by appropriate supporting documentation and letters of recommendation.
