Find it! @ Library - UT Southwestern FAQ
"Find it! @ Library - UT Southwestern" is a way for you to access or receive articles directly from the databases you search. This saves time by either linking directly to the full text of an article, or providing other options for obtaining it.
When you search selected Library resources for journal articles, you will see the
"Find it! @ Library - UT Southwestern" icon (below) next to every citation.

Due to space constraints, you may see an abbreviated "Find it! @ Library" icon (below) instead.

These icons are linked to our Find it! service, which provides you with these options:
- The full text of the article, if available
- Search Electronic Journals list
- Search Library Catalog
- Interlibrary Loan request form for the article (requires registration)
Whenever possible, the system will link you directly to the full-text article.
If the system is unable to link to the full text, the Find it! page will appear, providing multiple options.

If Find it! does not provide a link to the full text, it may be because:
- The Library does not subscribe to that journal
- The article is older than 1995 and the publisher does not have it online
- The journal has not been activated in the service
- The citation contains incorrect or incomplete information
Take advantage of the other links provided on the Find it! page, including:
- Search Electronic Journals list, especially for newer articles
- Search Library Catalog, especially for older articles
- Request through Interlibrary Loan if the Library does not own the item
Please notify us of problems with links by selecting the "Report Broken Link" button.
Options When No Full Text Was Found

Find it! icons are available from within our major journal article databases,
including:
- EBSCOHost (i.e. Academic Search Complete, CINAHL PLUS with full text)
- Faculty of 1000 Biology and Faculty of 1000 Medicine
- Health Reference Center
- Ovid (i.e. MEDLINE and PsycINFO)
- PubMed and other NCBI databases
- SciFinder Scholar
- Web of Science (Science Citations Index, Social Science Citations Index, BIOSIS and Current Contents)

Most of our ejournals are only available from computers at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, University Hospital - Zale Lipshy, and University Hospital - St. Paul. UT Southwestern faculty, staff, and students are authorized to use Library resources from remote, non-campus locations such as homes or offices using Virtual Private Networking Software (VPN).
While those affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center may use Ovid or PubMed remotely, it is recommended that you also use VPN when searching from off-campus so that you can gain access to full text.
