CINAHL Plus Full Text

Provides indexing for journals from the fields of nursing and allied health, with indexing back to 1937. It also contains searchable cited references and provides full text for hundreds of journals, plus legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials. In addition, this database offers access to Quick Lesson and Evidence-Based Care Sheets.

COS Grants Funding

The Library COS subscription includes 2 services: COS Funding Opportunities is a database of announcements for grants, fellowships, and awards. COS Funding Alerts allow creation of a weekly e-mail notification based on criteria provided by the individual COS member. COS Funding Alerts are accessed through the COS Workbench. Requires a login and password.

Electronic Journals

Browsable and searchable, Ejournals A to Z alphabetically lists all biomedical, academic, and general interest ejournals licensed by UT Southwestern.

JCR (Journal Citation Reports) Web from ISI provides easy access to data that helps evaluate and compare scholarly journals. Using citation data drawn from more than 8,400 scholarly and technical journals worldwide, JCR Web can show you the highest impact journals, the most frequently used journals, the hottest journals, and the largest journals. Coverage is both multidisciplinary and international and incorporates journals from more than 3,000 publishers in 60 nations.

Produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE is the National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, allied health, and the preclinical sciences. It contains bibliographic citations (e.g., authors, title, and journal reference) and author abstracts from more than 4,600 biomedical journals published in the United States and 70 other countries. MEDLINE contains well over 13 million citations dating back to the mid-1960s.

Produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE is the National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, allied health, and the preclinical sciences. Netscaler VPN

Unlike Cisco VPN, Netscaler VPN doesn't require software to be installed. Netscaler VPN operates through a Web browser. Most applications will work through Netscaler VPN, but for complete access, CISCO VPN may be required.

ScienceDirect

ScienceDirect is an online platform for scientific research containing the full text of more than 1,500 Elsevier Science journals in the life, physical, medical, technical, and social sciences. Also contains abstracts from non-Elsevier core journals in the major scientific disciplines and the ability to link directly to full-text articles licensed through other STM publishers. Also included is Scirus, a Web search engine which focuses on scientific content only. Scirus searches both web and proprietary databases for information that complements the content available on ScienceDirect. A service of UT Southwestern and the UT System Libraries.

Science of Synthesis

Science of Synthesis is a Web-based, authoritative information source on synthetic chemistry and methodology. Science of Synthesis is based on the book of the same name, the 5th edition of a famous text also known by the combined names of the authors of the first edition: Houben-Weyl. The database also provides access to the Houben-Weyl Archive (1909-2004), a standard reference work for synthetic chemists, which includes some 700,000 references to 580,000 structures and 146,000 product specific experimental procedures.

SciFinder Scholar™

Provides graphical access to Chemical Abstracts Service and MEDLINE.  Covers the full spectrum of chemical and biomedical information, including biochemistry, organic/inorganic chemistry, and chemical engineering/applied chemistry.
