NetLibrary provides Web access to the full text of books, including medical, scientific, computer, and reference titles. Currently, this collection includes more than 48,000 titles provided by UT Southwestern, the UT System Libraries, and TexShare plus thousands of public domain titles.
To use NetLibrary, go to http://www.netlibrary.com, or use the link from the Library’s Electronic Books page. You must be using a computer located on the UT Southwestern campus or its affiliated institutions (St. Paul University Hospital and Zale Lipshy University Hospital) to register for free access to the titles in our collection or to preview these books briefly.
Once the account is set up, you may access books from our collection from on- or off-campus and check them out for the full viewing period. Viewing the public domain books does not require affiliation.
To locate items in the collection, you can use the search features to identify books by author, title, subject, publisher, or keywords in the text. The advanced search feature allows you to limit your retrieval to publisher, year or language.
View this eBook allows a user to preview the full text of an eBook from the UT System Libraries Digital Collection or the Texas State Library Collection without logging in and checking it out. An eBook is previewed in 15-minute increments; after 15 minutes of inactivity the eBook is released and may be checked out by another user. Note: Adobe Reader is required to view most eBooks.
Check Out allows an eBook to be temporarily reserved by a user for up to 24 hours. On the left sidebar of the NetLibrary page, click on "eContent Details" to locate the option to check out an eBook. Note: You must be logged in to check out a book.
When reading an eBook online, you may print or copy one page at a time by using your browser's Print or Copy functions. Although you can print parts of an eBook, printing an entire eBook violates copyright laws.
NetLibrary offers extensive help screens as well as a form for contacting Customer Service. You may also call the Library's Information Desks at 214.648.2001 for assistance.
