What is SciFinder Scholar 2007?
SciFinder Scholar 2007 (SFS) provides graphical access to both MEDLINE and the databases of Chemical Abstracts Service, and covers the full spectrum of chemical and biomedical information, including biochemistry, organic/inorganic chemistry, and chemical engineering/applied chemistry. Substructure and reaction searching are also available.
Who can access SciFinder Scholar 2007?
Access to SciFinder Scholar 2007 is restricted to affiliated faculty, staff, and students of UT Southwestern.
Are there any use restrictions?
According to the SciFinder Scholar license agreement, SciFinder Scholar may not be used for commercial research, which includes research that is done under a funding or consultant contract where the results are delivered to a for-profit organization or for research that involves patentability searching. Authorized users may use SciFinder Scholar for academic research, teaching, and publication purposes only. How do I obtain access to SciFinder Scholar 2007?
Unlike other databases available through the Library's home page, the SciFinder Scholar software must be downloaded to each user's computer, either PC or Macintosh, before the database may be accessed. Once it's on your desktop, it can automatically connect you to Chemical Abstracts. SciFinder Scholar 2007 can only be accessed if you are directly connected to the campus network, or accessing it via VPN.
How do I get the software download instructions?
To apply for SciFinder Scholar 2007 download and access, fill out the download request form. You will receive download instructions via email by the next working day.
