MacMillan Lab Overview

The MacMillan lab focuses on the isolation and characterization of natural products that have a use in drug discovery and as tools to unravel complex biological systems. The lab is multifaceted, utilizing a combination of microbiology, organic and analytical chemistry and high-throughput screening technology to advance these goals. Although the lab is multi-disciplinary, chemistry is our main focus, taking advantage of the analytical techniques of NMR spectroscopy, mass Spectrometry, x-ray crystallography in conjunction with organic synthesis to solve difficult structural problems.
