Welcome to the web site for the Mangelsdorf/Kliewer laboratory (the Mango Lab) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Our lab is interested in understanding the molecular basis of transcriptional signaling by nuclear hormone receptors and exploiting their ligand dependency to discover novel therapeutic options for diseases such as atherosclerosis, gallstone disease, cholestasis, obesity, and cancer. The laboratory is currently characterizing the role of nuclear receptors in lipid metabolism.
