The Office for Technology Development performs a variety of functions for UT Southwestern Medical Center.  Initially, the Office receives all disclosures of new technologies developed here.  They will then analyze the technology for patentability and marketability.  The staff is responsible for initiating licensing contacts, negotiating licenses, and monitoring licenses.  When appropriate, selected technologies may be used as a basis of a wider ranging portfolio of technologies, potentially forming a platform for new business creation.  An overview of the office as well each member of the staff and their responsibilities can be found at the left.
