The van Oers laboratory is located in the Department of Immunology on the North Campus (pictured above) of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.  The lab members are studying the regulation of immune responses during normal and pathological conditions with an emphasis on;

  1. 1.The molecular causes of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome contributing to diverse clinical phenotypes, with an emphasis on the thymic hypoplasia. Survey available online for mothers of children with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome

  2. 2.The role of microRNAs in stress responses in the immune system.

  3. 3.Pathogenic mechanisms of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

  4. 4.Novel sequencing technologies to discover genetic causes leading to primary immunodeficiency diseases.
